After lunch, we drove down to the wharf area to try to catch a tour of Alcatraz but they were sold out...until August! Kevin was disappointed-he really wanted to see The Rock because he loved the movie of the same name but we just had to admire it from afar. Since we couldn't get a spot on the boat to Alcatraz, we checked out other "touristy" spots like Pier 39 where they have shopping, dining and you can see some local seas lions napping--or at least they were today. Then we walked down to Ghiradelli Square where you can get chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate--oh, and ice cream sundaes too--which we indulged in two of! Afterwards, we drove over the famous Golden Gate Bridge to the Muir Forest where we saw some of the most amazing redwood trees! These trees were huge! It was very cool.
Tomorrow, we'll start our drive back towards home. We'll still have stops along the way but we have to get started back to keep our schedule.
So... have I repeated lately that I am living vicariously through your trip? Oh, the things that y'all have seen!! I hate you couldn't go see Alcatraz. I am jealous of all that chocolate you ate. lol
ReplyDeleteI know you love your dark chocolate. If you get Lily in your class, you'll have some dark chocolate on the first day of school! Can't wait to show you all my photos!
