Day 4: Niagara Falls

This morning was pretty awesome!  We took a trip on the Maid of the Mist, the boats that go right up to the falls before turning around.  You get very up close and personal with the majestic falls!  We decided since it was so hot that we didn't need to wear our plastic, sticky ponchos.  So we got quite a shower!  But in the heat, it actually felt pretty good!  Afterwards, we did the Journey Behind the Falls where you travel down in an elevator and there are tunnels behind the falls with lookouts.  You can look directly out behind the falls and then another lookout takes you out right beside the Falls and again, you get quite wet!  It is a spectacular view.

We decided to go back to the RV in the heat of the day and take a rest so we could take on Niagara Falls by night!  We had dinner at the Skylon tower and had the best view of the falls yet!  Check it out.....

After dinner we decided to walk to Clifton Hill which has just about everything tourists can ask for--bowling alley, miniature golf, restaurants, a wax museum, and plenty of souvenir shopping!  As we were walking, the weather decided to take a nasty turn.  We were stuck in the middle of a downpour with no cover in sight.  Not fun!!  We finally made it to the front of a hotel and stood under the awning until the rain slowed down a bit.  We were all soaked to the bone!  We made it to a shop and bought sweatshirts and changed in a closet!  I've never been in a wet t-shirt contest but now I know what it would feel like!! ;)  

Our wonderful shuttle driver,John, had given us his cell number and picked us up right in front of the store and drove us back to the campground by way of the falls where we could slightly see the falls lit up yellow and blue through the sheets of rain.  We were wet but we had a nice time and it was a very special thing to see the Falls in person!  Hope you enjoy the photos!
