Day 10: Grand Canyon

Today was such a great day-probably the most fun we've had yet!  We started out the day at Bearizona, a drive-through wilderness park.  It was so much fun--for the kids and adults!  You drive through the park in your own car, at your own pace, and the animals are in their habitats.  There is no fence or wires separating them from you.  You are supposed to stay in the car, keep your doors locked (we kept waiting for a bear to try to open the door with the handle but it never happened) and keep your windows rolled up.  We didn't completely follow that rule--but we saw many other visitors with their windows rolled down taking  pictures too so we didn't feel too bad. :)  The coolest were the wolves.  We saw an employee petting them like they were dogs so we assumed they were not vicious.  Would you like to see how close they got to our car?

That line through the middle of the photo is the window on the car rolled halfway down!

It was really cool!  Although I rolled up the window right after I took this picture!  Didn't want to take any chances!  They had plenty of bears (which we did roll the window up for!) as well as bison, burros, and sheep as well as a walking area that had the cutest baby wolves and bears, raccoons, lynx, foxes, bobcats, skunks and a petting area with the sweetest goats, pigs, chicken, ducks and more.  I think we spent at least an hour there!

The second part of our day was spent at the Grand Canyon, and grand it was!  I have to say that photos do not do it justice. You just can't appreciate how massive it is in a photo!  It was beautiful, colorful and scary!  I almost had a panic attack a couple of times when the kids went what I considered too close to the edge.  I think they were doing it just to raise my blood pressure--and it worked!  We walked around some at the South Rim of the canyon and got some great photos!  I am so glad that we got to see it and so thankful that the Lord made it!  Below are some of the photos.  Tomorrow morning, we head to Vegas!
