Day 14: LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica

Yesterday was a full day!  We drove in to Los Angeles around 9am.  We parked right by Lucille Ball's star on the Walk of Fame.  The kids have been watching "I Love Lucy" on DVD for the last week and they love it!

After we walked around some looking for the stars of our favorite celebs, we booked ourselves on a open-top van for a 2 hour tour of the area.  He took us through the streets of LA, through Beverly Hills, Hollywood and down some of the most famous streets to ever appear in the movies like Wilshire Blvd., Rodeo Drive and Sunset Blvd.  I really enjoyed the tour especially driving by some of the celebrities homes including Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Simon Cowell, Fergie, Lucille Ball, Johnny Depp (from afar!), the house where Michael Jackson died, and many more.  We also saw some of the most famous hang-out spots of the stars past and present: The Roxy, The Viper Room (where River Phoenix died), the Chateau Marmont and more. We also saw some famous movie spots like the store, hotel and apartment building from Pretty Woman.
We saw the Kodak Theater where they hold the Oscars every year and I got to shop a little at the shops of Hollywood and Highland. Afterwards, we drove down to the Santa Monica pier and walked around. The kids and I got our picture taken with some very friendly parrots.
