Day 5: Oklahoma City

By the time we got unhooked in Little Rock and Kevin got a little work done, it was close to 4:00 OK time when we reached Oklahoma City..and it is steaming hot!  Our car thermostat said 106 although it was probably not quite that hot.  We rushed to get the RV hooked up here so that we could go and tour the Oklahoma National Memorial and Museum which closed at 6:00!  We made it at 5:00 sharp which was what time the ticket office closed but I had called ahead with my sob story--came all the way from North Carolina, only one day in Oklahoma City, really wanted to see the museum--you get the picture.  Anyway, she went ahead and sold us tickets at 5:01 since I had called.
The museum was much larger than I had anticipated.  It was very emotional to see.  The kids were not as thrilled with it, but we explained that if they lived during it and remembered it, it would mean more to them.  It was the most significant act of domestic terrorism on American soil.  There were very moving photos, mementos, stories and videos with interviews from survivors.  Outside they have a beautiful memorial that has two huge walls with "9:01" on one and "9:03" on the other with a tranquility pool in between almost the length of a football field.  The reason flor those times is that the bomb went off at 9:02am on April 19, 1995.  I am posting some photos below as well as some photos of RV life.  My cousin, Amber, said she'd like to see some photos of our normal life on the RV so here they are....and we're off to Texas tomorrow.  We thank the Lord for keeping us safe as we travel this beautiful country he made!

(I am having trouble loading more photos so I will try to add them tomorrow!)
Here are the OKC photos:
